Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 2023 Christmas card has stirred
reactions, with fans expressing disappointment over what they perceive as an
attention-seeking move by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The couple faced backlash for not featuring their children on the card, which
solely portrays them in a celebratory moment. PR guru Lynn Carratt shared her
insights with The Mirror, highlighting the stark contrast to the Christmas
card released by Kate and William, which showcased a family portrait of the
entire Wales family.
Lynn questioned the absence of Archie and Lilibet, emphasizing that despite
stepping back from royal life, fans still have an interest in seeing photos of
the children and observing their growth.
The expert noted that in previous years, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
featured their son, Archie, on their annual Christmas cards, with the 2021
card debuting the first photo of Lilibet after her birth. However, this year,
the couple shifted their focus to highlight their philanthropic work.
Lynn observed a notable difference in this year's card—the inclusion of Archewell Audio was missing, following the couple's earlier controversy when labeled as "grifters" after parting ways with Spotify.
While acknowledging the couple's desire to share a happy and united image, Lynn expressed the sentiment that Christmas is a time for families, and fans would appreciate a glimpse into the couple's family life rather than a continued emphasis on promoting their foundations and productions.
