Speaking on The Royal Beat, Wilkinson stated that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been planning their comeback, but the negative press surrounding the release of Omid Scobie's book has derailed their efforts.
Wilkinson suggested that the couple was close to distancing themselves from their image as individuals profiting from grievances against the royal family. However, the inclusion of King Charles and Kate Middleton in the narrative of royal racism has adversely affected their trajectory.
"I thought they were doing really well keeping out of negative headlines...but Endgame blew that all out of the water, and then all the negative headlines went back onto them.
I think they are going in the right direction," Wilkinson remarked. He advised that the couple should continue promoting Meghan as a "California girl" and follow a kinder and gentler route, avoiding conflicts with the Royal Family and enjoying their life in California. However, the disclosure of names in "Endgame" disrupted their progress, leading to setbacks in their Hollywood comeback plans.
