Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Departure from Senior Royal Roles Linked to Alleged Queen Elizabeth's Action

In 2021, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made headlines by stepping down from their senior royal positions, and reports suggest this decision might be traced back to an incident during the festive broadcast of 2019 when the late Queen Elizabeth purportedly omitted their photo.

According to royal author Christopher Andersen in his book "Brothers And Wives: Inside The Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan," the late Monarch excluded the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from the royal family's Christmas card during the mentioned year.

The photograph in question showcased Harry and Meghan alongside their then-seven-month-old son, Prince Archie.

As detailed in Christopher's book, the Queen inspected the arranged photographs and reportedly singled out one frame, remarking, "That one, I suppose we don’t need that one."

During December 2019, Queen Elizabeth delivered her Christmas message from Buckingham Palace's green drawing room. The frames featured photographs of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William and Princess Kate with their children, King George VI from 1944, and the Duke of Edinburgh. Notably, a family portrait of Harry and Meghan was conspicuously absent from the displayed images.

This incident, as outlined by the book, is suggested to have played a role in the subsequent decision of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to step away from their senior roles within the royal family in 2021.
