Mr. Nick Booth, a former royal aide and integral figure in the establishment of Invictus alongside Prince Harry, has been appointed as the interim CEO for the international multi-sport event set to take place in Vancouver and Whistler in 2025.
This move follows the abrupt departure of two senior executives, CEO Peter Lawless and Chief Commercial Officer Bill Cooper, during the fall.
According to a source cited by the Daily Mail, "Nick Booth is one of the Duke of Sussex's key associates. He played a crucial role in the inception of Invictus with Harry and has been tasked with fortifying the 2025 games with just over a year to go."
However, despite the strategic hiring, morale among Vancouver-Whistler staff is reportedly at an 'all-time low' due to the departure of the "well-liked bosses," as mentioned by an insider.
In response to concerns, a representative for the veteran game competition program assured in a statement to the outlet that Mr. Booth has been "advising the team," ensuring a smooth transition in the organizational hierarchy. They emphasized, "There will be no disruption to the team working to deliver the Games."
Booth brings with him a wealth of experience, having served Prince Harry and Prince William at the Royal Foundation for seven years. Additionally, he was honored with an appointment to The Royal Victorian Order by Queen Elizabeth II in the 2017 New Year Honours list.
