Prince Harry's ongoing legal battle with the Home Office, challenging the
decision to strip him of his security detail, is set to be kept private. The
Duke of Sussex is determined to secure protection for himself and his family
when they visit the UK.
Previously, Prince Harry attempted to privately pay for London's police force
to provide security, but the request was denied by a judge who argued against
using officers as "private bodyguards for the wealthy."
Prince Harry contends that the aggressive press puts his safety and that of
his family at risk, necessitating security measures. He aims to argue that the
Home Office treated him unfairly by denying him protection after stepping down
from his royal position in 2020 with Meghan Markle.
In this case, a privacy order has been issued to protect the majority of evidence from entering the public domain. The judge emphasized the need to safeguard the material for the "interests of justice" in order to "properly determine the claim." As a result, the bulk of the hearing is slated to be conducted in private.
The claims will be heard at the High Court before Judge Mr. Justice Lane after Prince Harry secured the chance to appeal the Home Office's decision.
