In an unearthed interview, Prince Harry, currently in the spotlight for a
possible reconciliation with the royal family, asserted that no one within the
Royal Family desires to be King or Queen but is willing to accept the
responsibilities when the time comes.
The Duke of Sussex, who stepped down as a senior working royal in 2020 and
relocated to the US with Meghan, expressed his views on the monarchy in a June
2017 interview. According to reports, Harry stated, "No one in the Royal
Family wants to be King or Queen," emphasizing their commitment to ensuring
the monarchy's longevity and modernizing its role.
"We want to make sure the monarchy lasts and are passionate about what it
stands for," Harry told Angela Levin during the interview. He acknowledged the
need for changes within the institution, especially with the rapidly evolving
landscape influenced by social media. Despite the challenges, he affirmed the
family's dedication to their duties and the ongoing process of modernization.
Harry expressed, "Is there any one of the Royal Family who wants to be King or Queen? I don't think so, but we will carry out our duties at the right time."
The recent embrace of the Duke and Duchess of York by King Charles III is seen by some as an indication of a potential return for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to the royal fold, as mentioned by Richard Eden in the Palace Confidential newsletter.
Conversely, British author and Nostradamus commentator Mario Reading speculated that Harry might bypass his older brother, Prince William, for the throne, suggesting a potential shift in the line of succession. The dynamics within the royal family continue to be a subject of intrigue and speculation.
