Prince William Offers Condolences in Kuwait After Emir Sheikh Nawaf's Passing

Prince William has made an unexpected trip to Kuwait to convey condolences following the demise of Emir Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. Britain's future king met with the new Emir, Sheikh Meshal al-Ahmad al-Sabah, during his visit, expressing condolences on behalf of himself and the royal family.

A photo from William's last-minute journey to the Middle East country was shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales social media accounts, accompanied by a heartfelt message: "Sincere condolences to the people of Kuwait and the family of the late Amir, His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al Jaber Al-Sabah."

The British royal family maintains longstanding ties with the Kuwaiti royal family, as it does with various ruling royals in the Gulf States.

Emir Sheikh Nawaf had been hospitalized in late November for an unspecified illness, and Kuwait awaited updates on his health. Following his passing, a private funeral was held on Sunday, attended by relatives. Kuwait has declared 40 days of mourning along with a three-day closure of official departments.
