During a visit to the Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC) in Dartmouth,
Devon, Prince William shared a touching anecdote about Queen Elizabeth's love
story with Prince Philip. The occasion was the graduation of over 100 Royal Navy
Cadets and international colleagues.
Dressed in the ceremonial attire of the Royal Navy, Prince William,
representing King Charles, took the royal salute and spoke about the
significance of BRNC. He recalled the connection his family had with the
college, emphasizing the role it played in his grandparents' love story.
"It is well known that my grandmother and grandfather met here, while my
great-grandfather, King George VI, was conducting these very duties," Prince
William stated. He recounted that Princess Elizabeth, at the age of 13, and
Prince Philip, at 18, met at BRNC when King George VI, the Queen Mother, and
Princess Margaret were present.
The prince acknowledged the special place BRNC holds in his heart, given its connection to his family's history. The revelation added a personal touch to the event, highlighting the college's role in the enduring love story of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
