While Kate Middleton consistently wears her engagement ring, Prince
William is rarely seen with any ring at all. The reason behind this is simple:
Prince William doesn't wear a wedding ring because he doesn't have one.
In 2010, the engagement of Prince William and Kate was announced, with Kate
wearing the memorable sapphire engagement ring that once belonged to the late
Princess Diana. However, when it came to wedding rings, a month before the
royal wedding in April 2011, St James’ Palace confirmed that William would not
be wearing one.
The decision was based on William's personal preference, as he's not inclined to wear jewelry. A palace insider at the time mentioned, "He’s never worn any. He decided he didn’t want to wear one now. It’s all down to personal preference."
For their wedding ring, William and Kate chose Wartski to create it. The ring was fashioned from a piece of Welsh gold given to Prince William by the Queen shortly after the engagement was announced. Despite not wearing a wedding ring, Prince William's choice aligns with his personal style and comfort.
