As King Charles approaches one year on the British throne after the
passing of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William continues to capture the hearts of
Britons, enjoying widespread popularity not only in the UK but also across
America.
Royal author Kristen Meinzer attributed William's enduring appeal to his "Hollywood age," a phase where individuals are "living out the fairytale" of falling in love and becoming young parents. Meinzer also noted the factor of William being Princess Diana's son, contributing significantly to his popularity.
"When they are between roughly 15 and 45, when they are living out the
fairytale, when they are young parents, when they are falling in love, all of
those things are happening, that’s when the royals are most popular,"
explained Meinzer. "So, that’s definitely to William’s benefit. He just has
age on his side, he also, as I said, has the fact that he’s Diana’s son on his
side."
Meinzer emphasized that public sentiment also plays a role, stating, "People just don’t like Charles as much, they just don’t."
This analysis aligns with recent reports suggesting a 'war' behind palace doors between Prince William and King Charles, both vying for prominence in public and private spheres. Despite the tensions, William's popularity appears to remain robust.
