Princess Anne Shares Heartbreaking Final Moments with Queen Elizabeth II

Princess Anne has opened up about the late Queen Elizabeth II's last moments in a moving segment featured in the upcoming special, "Charles III: The Coronation Year," scheduled to air on BBC and iPlayer on December 26.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the Princess Royal revealed that Queen Elizabeth, who passed away on September 8, 2022, had concerns about dying at her cherished Scottish residence, Balmoral.

Anne shared, "I think there was a moment when she felt it would be more difficult if she died at Balmoral. I think we did try to persuade her that that shouldn’t be part of the decision-making process. So I hope she felt that was right in the end because we did."

Princess Anne, who maintained a close relationship with her mother throughout her life, also described her emotions when the crown jeweler removed the Imperial State Crown from Queen Elizabeth's coffin. This act symbolized the transfer of leadership to her elder brother, King Charles.

"When he takes the crown off the coffin, I rather weirdly felt a sense of relief. Somehow that’s it, finished. That responsibility being moved on," she expressed. The emotional revelations provide a glimpse into the private and personal moments surrounding the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
