Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced criticism from race relations
expert Buki Mosaku for turning what he deems an "innocent" question about their
son Archie's skin color into an "attention-seeking PR stunt."
Mosaku, speaking to Daily Star, expressed that conversations about a child's
skin tone are common in mixed-race families and are considered perfectly
normal. He accused the couple of exaggerating the situation, stating that if
the comments were made with good intentions, there should be no cause for
concern.
The race relations expert remarked, "On the basis that these comments, if they
were made at all, were said in this context then the Duke and Duchess have
made a mountain out of a mole hill, perhaps to ensure their brand remains high
on the media agenda."
Mosaku suggested that if Prince Harry and Meghan truly believe the comments were discriminatory, they may need a basic understanding of racism, offering to provide a complimentary "What is racism?" starter course.
The criticism comes in the wake of revelations in Omid Scobie's book, 'Endgame,' where the Dutch version allegedly named two royals making racist claims about Archie. While the Sussex camp denied naming the royals, the disclosure sparked controversy, with calls for the couple to be stripped of their royal titles and discussions about potential legal action by the Firm.
