According to a report by The Daily Mail, Queen Elizabeth allowed Fergie, despite her divorce from Prince Andrew, the right to a royal funeral at Windsor. The arrangements include a service at St George’s Chapel, followed by internment at the Royal Family burial ground at Frogmore upon her passing.
Frogmore is situated next to the mausoleum created for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, and it's also one mile away from the royal vault at St George’s Chapel, where Prince Philip rests alongside Queen Elizabeth.
The special consideration for Sarah Ferguson suggests a close bond between her and the late Queen. This connection was further evident when Queen Elizabeth, upon her death in September 2022, bequeathed her two surviving corgis to Andrew and Fergie.
Despite her divorce from Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson continues to reside in the Royal Lodge and is invited to royal family gatherings, including Christmas in Sandringham. Recently, she was observed participating in the walk to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church on the royal Norfolk estate.
This recognition and special arrangement underscore the enduring connection between Sarah Ferguson and the royal family, even after her divorce from Prince Andrew.
