Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who faced challenges in gaining traction in 2023, are reportedly lacking clear plans for the upcoming year. According to royal expert Rebecca English, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have lost credibility in Hollywood due to their controversial actions against the royal family.
English remarked, "I think even those who are [in the inner circle] don’t really know what those plans are. Whatever they have done, they’ve lost so much credibility."
She continued, expressing curiosity about how toxic or commercially attractive their brand is now, given their aspirations to be a successful commercial brand.
Since their departure from the royal family in 2020, Harry and Meghan have faced difficulties establishing themselves without the royal tag. Controversial events such as their interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harry's memoir "Spare," and the recent claims of racism in Omid Scobie's book "Endgame" have kept the couple in the headlines for negative reasons.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield previously remarked sarcastically on the couple's move to Montecito, suggesting that they left Buckingham Palace in search of freedom only to find themselves "finding employment" in the U.S.
