Harry and Meghan Criticized for Missing Chance to Build Lasting Connection with Public

Following their departure from the royal family in 2020, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry chose to forego their social media presence.

Now, as they face the potential loss of a lucrative deal with Netflix and pivot toward negotiations with Paramount, voices are urging the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to enhance their social media engagement to cultivate a lasting rapport with their supporters.

PR expert Ryan McCormick emphasized the importance of maintaining their Netflix deal, citing its potential to attract non-royal admirers.

In a critique shared with The Mirror, McCormick lamented the absence of social media engagement on the couple's official website, noting the missed opportunity to engage with fans and build a robust online community.

"At the height of their popularity, they could have amassed thousands, if not millions, of followers through a mailing list," McCormick remarked.

"Meghan and Harry could have directly interacted with these followers, fostering enduring connections," he added. "It's a significant missed opportunity."

Expressing concern over the couple's vulnerability in the court of public opinion, McCormick questioned the sustainability of their current level of attention.

"While they still command public interest, their position is precarious," McCormick cautioned. "How long will the public's attention endure?"
