In a discussion with The Mirror, royal expert Dr. Tessa Dunlop emphasized the significance of the Princess of Wales, stating that her recent operation serves as a "salient reminder of just how valuable she is" to her family and the public.
Dr. Dunlop shared, "Always projecting confidence and good health, the Princess of Wales, who would often greet the press shortly after giving birth, now finds herself in the hospital."
"The revelation of Kate undergoing a planned abdominal surgery and remaining in the London Clinic for the next few weeks has taken many by surprise," Dunlop added.
For those unfamiliar with the situation, Prince William has temporarily set aside his royal duties to care for his wife at the hospital and attend to their three children—George, Charlotte, and Louis—at home.
Addressing Princess Kate's health, Dr. Dunlop remarked, "Although not cancer, Kate's serious condition requires several months of recuperation, and it's not just her family who will feel her absence."
Commending the "Queen-in-waiting," Dunlop acknowledged that the mother-of-three "has borne immense pressure in recent years, coping with the loss of the late Queen and the departure of Harry and Meghan, which added extra responsibilities to her plate."
The historian underscored the pivotal role of the Princess of Wales, stating, "The operation serves as a stark reminder of her immense value, not only within her family but as the House of Windsor's most dependable asset."
