Prince Harry stirred global attention with the release of "Spare" in January of the previous year, where he shared intimate details of his royal life, encompassing pivotal moments such as the loss of his mother, Princess Diana, his military service, and his marriage to Meghan Markle.
Royal author Robert Hardman has raised concerns about what might unfold in a potential follow-up, asserting that the royal's initial memoir covered less than a fifth of his life post-marriage to the Suits alum and leading up to his departure from the royal sphere.
Reportedly, King Charles is "worried" about the prospect of further revelations in a potential sequel or another form of media. Hardman, in his book about King Charles III, highlighted the Palace's unease regarding the omission of significant recent events in the first memoir.
"It did not go unnoticed that Harry and Meghan’s wedding, their married life, and their eventual departure from the royal world amounted to a small part – less than a fifth – of Prince Harry’s memoir. This suggested either a sequel or, perhaps a memoir by Meghan in due course," wrote Hardman.
Prince Harry had previously hinted at the possibility of a second book during a promotional tour for "Spare." He shared, "It was 800 pages, and now it’s down to 400 pages. It could have been two books, put it that way, and the hard bit was taking things out."
The Duke of Sussex acknowledged certain sensitive aspects involving his relationships with his brother and father that he chose not to disclose in the first memoir, expressing concern that revealing them would lead to unforgivable consequences.
