In an official statement released on Wednesday, Buckingham Palace revealed, "Similar to thousands of men each year, The King has opted for treatment to address an enlarged prostate."
A spokesperson from the Palace assured that the Monarch's condition is benign, and he is scheduled for a corrective procedure at the hospital next week.
To facilitate the recovery process, the King's public commitments will be temporarily deferred.
The health update on King Charles coincides with the recent announcement regarding Princess Kate's planned abdominal surgery. As per Kensington Palace, the Princess of Wales underwent the procedure at The London Clinic on Tuesday.
The statement regarding Kate's health outlines a ten to fourteen-day hospital stay, followed by a return home for continued recovery. It is anticipated, based on current medical advice, that she will resume public duties after the Easter period, as confirmed by Kate's spokesperson.
