In a book released just three days into his reign, written by author Jens Anderson, the newly crowned monarch acknowledged the challenges in his marriage and lauded the 'perseverance' demonstrated by Queen Mary.
Expressing his happiness about staying together, King Frederik said, "I love marriage, my wife, our children, and the whole happy base that arises for the people who manage to stay together and persevere," as translated by BBC.
The royal couple, who are approaching their 20th wedding anniversary on May 14, has four children together: Prince Christian (18), Princess Isabella (16), and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine (12).
The affair rumors surfaced in November 2023 when King Frederik was seen with Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova during a trip to Madrid. However, Casanova vehemently denied the allegations at that time.
