Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Extend Their Feathered Family with a New Addition

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly expanded their feathered family by welcoming a new addition, a rescued chicken named Sinkie.

Comedian and television personality Ellen DeGeneres shared the news on Instagram, revealing that the Sussexes graciously took in Sinkie after the bird faced ostracism from other coop-mates due to a fibula injury.

“Sinkie’s leg is fixed but our chickens were still picking on her, so she had to be re-homed,” DeGeneres wrote in the caption, accompanied by a photo of the bird. “Luckily, our friends Harry and Meghan’s coop had room for one more. Not sure yet what her royal title will be.”

In their Montecito residence, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle maintain an organized coop known as Archie’s Chick Inn, named after their 4-year-old son, Prince Archie. The couple previously offered a glimpse into their feathered residents during a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, showcasing their commitment to rescuing hens from factory farms.

During the interview, Meghan greeted the chickens, saying, "Hi, girls! I just love rescuing.”

The new addition, Sinkie, now joins the Sussexes' avian family in their commitment to providing a safe and caring environment for rescued birds.
