Prince Andrew Faces Legal Action as Anti-Monarchy Group Files New Police Report

The UK's anti-monarchy group lodged a complaint with London police on Thursday concerning Prince Andrew after the release of explosive US court documents alleging the Duke's involvement in inappropriate conduct with a woman linked to Jeffrey Epstein.

Republic, advocating for an elected British head of state, confirmed the police report, marking a fresh legal challenge for Prince Andrew. This move follows a New York judge's decision on Wednesday to unseal identities linked to the disgraced US financier Epstein.

The unsealed files accuse King Charles III's younger brother of groping a woman, a claim he vehemently denies. Despite attending a Christmas Day church service last month with other royal family members, Prince Andrew faces renewed scrutiny due to shocking revelations in the unsealed documents related to Virginia Giuffre.

Republic expressed their actions, stating, "We've just reported Andrew to the police."

Prince Andrew withdrew from frontline royal duties in late 2019 after facing public outrage over a BBC television interview defending his association with Epstein. In February 2022, he settled an out-of-court case with Virginia Giuffre, who alleged s-xual assault when she was 17.

Following the settlement, the late Queen revoked Andrew's honorary military titles and patronages, effectively sidelining him from royal life. Although the Metropolitan Police closed its review into Giuffre's claims in October 2021, stating no further action would be taken, this recent police report signifies a renewed legal challenge amid ongoing controversies surrounding Prince Andrew's ties to Epstein.
