The Duke of Sussex is slated to be recognized as a "living legend" for his "significant contributions in the aerospace industry" at the 21st Annual Living Legends of Aviation Awards on Jan. 19.
Critics have voiced concerns, accusing the organizers of unwarranted inclusion and suggesting that the Spare author may have paid for his induction alongside esteemed figures like the late astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong.
"Is this a joke? What legendary accomplishments has he achieved? I am asking seriously! What has he done?" questioned one social media user, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Another critic asserted, "Not a joke, but a paid induction. The upside is six other people are actually receiving named awards. H is not. They must've really thought this would bring them good publicity."
The news of Prince Harry's induction was initially disclosed by royal author Omid Scobie, often referred to as the 'mouthpiece' for Harry and Meghan Markle, on X, formerly Twitter.
"Prince Harry is set to be inducted into the Living Legends of Aviation Hall of Fame, joining other aviators who've made 'significant contributions in the aerospace industry,' including Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong," the tweet revealed.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place in Beverly Hills, CA, on January 19, as disclosed by Scobie.
