According to sources, the Duke of Sussex was not officially informed by the palace regarding the health conditions of Princess Kate and King Charles. Upon discovering the news from media sources, Prince Harry promptly contacted the monarch to express his concern.
A close source to the Duke revealed, "Harry has made an effort to reach out to his father upon learning about his and Kate's health conditions." The source further stated, "While the Duke had intentions to travel to the UK, one of his children is unwell. However, he plans to fly to the country soon to stand with his royal relatives in their hours of need."
Contrastingly, royal author Robert Hardman, who recently published a new book, described the King as 'an optimist' and 'not confrontational.' Despite Prince Harry's public revelations about private family matters, including labeling his father King Charles as unaffectionate and unable to communicate during his childhood, Hardman suggests the monarch would be open to reconciliation with his youngest son.
Speaking on A Right Royal Podcast, Hardman touched upon the drama following the naming of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's daughter, Lilibet, after Queen Elizabeth II. He mentioned, "The Queen adored Harry, right to the end, and Harry adored her. She met Lilibet and loves her granddaughter; that was not an issue."
