During a discussion on GB News, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield outlined a potential strategy for the Prince and Princess of Wales to counteract the impact of accusations leveled by Harry and Meghan, which have painted them negatively on a global scale.
Reflecting on the Waleses' 2022 trip to the Caribbean, just months after Harry and Meghan's revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey, Schofield acknowledged the backlash they faced for not addressing the colonial history of the Americas region during their visit.
Schofield expressed, "I think that Harry and Meghan villainized the Royal Family. So you might be a little more apt to grab a poster board and go protest these people because you're seeing on the news, you're seeing on television, and you're reading in magazines that these people are racist in some way, according to Harry and Meghan's Oprah Winfrey interview."
The royal expert suggested that if Prince William and Princess Kate were to undertake an overseas trip at present, the public reception might be more favorable compared to their earlier visits.
"I do feel like it's a roller coaster. Sometimes more people are going to turn up to protest you, sometimes people are going to have a bad attitude about you. Would they be gentler today? I think so," Schofield affirmed.
The potential for a foreign tour is presented as a strategic move to shift public perception and mitigate the impact of negative portrayals stemming from the ongoing controversies within the royal family.
