Ferguson wrote, "Naturally another cancer diagnosis has been a shock, but I’m in good spirits and grateful for the many messages of love and support." She revealed that her dermatologist's vigilance led to the early detection of the melanoma, emphasizing the importance of monitoring moles for changes that could be signs of melanoma.
Detailing her health journey, she shared, "I have been diagnosed with malignant melanoma, a form of skin cancer, my second cancer diagnosis within a year after I was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer and underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery."
Expressing gratitude to the medical teams that have supported her, Ferguson urged others to be diligent in monitoring their health. She emphasized the significance of checking the size, shape, color, and texture of moles and encouraged anyone reading her message to take their health seriously.
