Unraveling the Enigma: Why Kate Middleton Chose Not to Journey to Scotland Alongside Prince William

Princess Kate's startling decision to forgo accompanying Prince William to Balmoral on the day of Queen Elizabeth's passing has birthed a myriad of questions.

A recently published book sheds light on the motivations behind the Princess of Wales steering clear of the trip to Scotland with her spouse, William.

In "The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy," Robert Hardman delves into the events surrounding Queen Elizabeth's demise on September 8, 2022.

As detailed in an excerpt from the book featured in the Daily Mail on Friday, Hardman claims that amidst the royal family's swift journey to Balmoral upon doctors expressing concern for the Queen's health, Kate opted to remain in Windsor.

The then-soon-to-be Princess Wales found herself tethered to her duties as a parent, choosing to stay with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis as they embarked on a new term at a different school.

According to the book's excerpt, Princess Kate, recognizing the significance of the day for her children, decided it was crucial for at least one parent to be present.

Kate's decision triggered speculations, with certain media outlets suggesting that Meghan Markle was also requested to stay behind while Prince Harry made his journey to Scotland, fostering the perception that Kate was excluded for similar reasons. However, royal biographer Hardman asserts that Kate autonomously made the decision.

"It was more a stroke of luck than deliberate planning, but it significantly eased the task of informing Harry that he would be making the journey alone," confides a royal aide in the new book.
