Despite their attempts to secure significant deals independently post their royal departure, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle found themselves omitted from the guest list at the prestigious Golden Globe Awards. Their struggles to make waves in the entertainment industry without the backing of the royal family appear to have thwarted their aspirations.
Having inked lucrative deals with streaming giants and actively seeking connections with A-listers upon their relocation to the US in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex faced the unexpected setback of not receiving an invitation to Sunday's Golden Globe Awards.
Royal author Angelina Levin took to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday to express her thoughts on the Sussexes' notable absence from the event.
Harry and Meghan were not invited to last night Golden Globe awards. They can get away from that by insisting they were busy. But it is much harder to escape the effect of the heavy mocking especially of Meghan

Levin remarked, "Harry and Meghan were notably absent from last night's Golden Globe Awards. While they might claim busyness, evading the impact of heavy mocking, particularly towards Meghan, is a more formidable challenge."
Despite the presence of numerous A-listers at the 81st Golden Globe Awards, Harry and Meghan chose not to attend.
Even in the absence of any members of the monarchy, the royal family became the target of mockery by American comedian Koy. Discussing Netflix's popular series, Koy humorously commented, "Just a fantastic series about a wealthy, dysfunctional family, all scheming - oh, wait, that's The Crown. I'm sorry."
Koy didn't spare a sharp comment on Meghan and Harry's lucrative contract with the network, stating, "Harry and Meghan Markle got paid millions for doing absolutely nothing – and that's just by Netflix."
According to a Hollywood insider, "Meghan and Harry might secretly appreciate not receiving an invitation from the organizers."
"They were well aware that their presence would likely be the subject of mockery and jokes during the star-studded event," the source added.
