King Charles Disregards Princess Anne's Warning Regarding Royal Family Downsizing

King Charles has reportedly dismissed Princess Anne's cautionary advice regarding the issue of a streamlined monarchy, as revealed by a royal historian in an exclusive interview with GB News.

Prior to the Coronation, the Princess Royal voiced her opposition to the notion of reducing the number of active members within the Royal Family, emphasizing that the concept of a "slimmed-down" monarchy was proposed at a time when there were more individuals available to justify such a suggestion.

Among the royals frequently considered as potential working members are Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, the daughters of the Duke of York. However, the demand for additional working royals has surged following King Charles and Princess Kate's withdrawal from royal duties due to health concerns.

Marlene Koenig, a respected royal historian, highlighted to GB News that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie wouldn't be feasible substitutes for the Princess of Wales due to their individual commitments, engagements, and charitable endeavors.

"Each royal has their own engagements, charities, foundations, and interests. Beatrice and Eugenie cannot fill in for Catherine given their own engagements," Koenig explained.

Despite Princess Anne's warnings about the potential drawbacks of a smaller Royal Family, King Charles appears unmoved by her concerns. Koenig noted, "The Princess Royal has hinted at the challenges posed by a reduced Royal Family, but the King has not taken heed of her cautions."

Koenig also highlighted the potential backlash associated with involving Beatrice and Eugenie, given their father's controversial history. Prince Andrew stepped back from royal duties in 2019 following a controversial interview concerning his association with Jeffrey Epstein.

Both of Sarah Ferguson's daughters are married and have children of their own. Princess Beatrice, married to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, resides in an apartment at St James's Palace in London. Meanwhile, Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank have relocated to Portugal with their sons, August and Ernest.
