Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Netflix Deal Teeters on the Edge of Cancellation

Efforts by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to redefine their brand have failed to salvage their lucrative Netflix contract, which now hangs precariously on the brink of cancellation.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made headlines with the relaunch of their Sussex brand through a revamped website, where it was revealed that Meghan Markle would continue her Archetypes podcast under a new deal with Lemonada Media. Despite these developments, their Netflix agreement, signed in 2020 for a five-year multi-million-dollar deal, faces uncertainty as it approaches its scheduled end in 2025.

Alison Boshoff, a columnist for MailOnline, speculated that Netflix is inclined to terminate or significantly downsize the deal at the earliest opportunity. Sources close to the situation revealed to Boshoff that the association with Netflix has been underwhelming for both parties, with Meghan and Harry reportedly receiving a relatively modest sum from the streaming giant, estimated to be as low as £16 million ($20 million).

Describing the deal as a "dead duck," sources highlighted the disappointment surrounding the partnership. This revelation comes amidst the departure of several prominent employees from Archewell Productions, including manager Bennett Levine, a key figure behind the couple's successful Netflix docuseries, "Harry & Meghan."

The uncertain fate of their Netflix deal marks yet another challenge for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry as they navigate their post-royal endeavors and strive to carve out new paths beyond the traditional constraints of royal life.
