Meghan Markle Pays Tribute to Departed Companion in Heartfelt Gesture for Animals
In a poignant tribute, Prince Harry’s wife Meghan Markle dedicated something deeply meaningful to her late “beloved friend.”
Markle inaugurated a new section of London’s Mayhew animal charity, announcing the momentous occasion through a video link.
During the grand unveiling, the Duchess of Sussex tenderly honored her late "beloved friend" Oli Juste, reflecting on his sudden passing in January 2022, in front of friends and family gathered at Mayhew for the opening of the Oli Juste wing.
“At Mayhew Animal Home in the UK, a new wing was unveiled to enhance the facility, offering enriching spaces for training and therapy,” the Duchess shared at the event, which was also captured on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's new website.
She added, “Dedicated to Oli Juste, the wing will offer enhanced care for dogs in need, commemorating the renowned dog trainer and animal behaviorist through the gesture of Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex.”
The Sussex website showcased the unveiling ceremony with a snapshot of Meghan Markle affectionately petting a dog while clad in a beige coat, captured during her visit to the rescue home in northwest London.
“I extend heartfelt gratitude to the remarkable team at Mayhew, whose tireless efforts have brought this vision to fruition,” Meghan expressed in her video message to Mr. Juste's loved ones.
“It was imperative to commemorate Oli's memory in a manner befitting his spirit. Mayhew stands as a beacon of hope for the vulnerable, illustrating what can be achieved through collective endeavor,” she continued.
The website underscores the Duchess and the late Juste’s shared commitment to dogs and their welfare, underscoring how the new Oli Juste wing will serve their noble cause.
