Meghan Markle Strikes New Podcast Deal Amid Website Controversy

Meghan Markle, along with Prince Harry, has recently launched a new website, Sussex.com, causing tension with the royal family for dropping the "royal" from the title. Amidst this controversy, Markle has struck a new podcast deal with Lemonada Media, just eight months after parting ways with Spotify.

The 42-year-old Duchess of Sussex will collaborate with Lemonada Media, known for producing podcasts such as "Wiser Than Me" with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and "Hard Feelings" with Jennette McCurdy, founded in 2019 by Jessica Cordova Kramer and Stephanie Wittels Wachs.

Markle expressed her enthusiasm for joining Lemonada in a statement, stating, "I’m proud to now be able to share that I am joining the brilliant team at Lemonada to continue my love of podcasting." She emphasized her support for a female-founded company with thought-provoking and entertaining podcasts.

The announcement follows the launch of the Sussex.com website, which raised eyebrows and led to speculation about the couple's intentions. The Palace has indicated that the website could face shutdown if any commercial activity is detected, highlighting tensions between the couple and the royal family.

Despite criticism, a source close to Harry and Meghan defended their actions, asserting, "That is a fact. It is their surname and family name." Royal expert Angela Levin expressed concern over the couple's alleged violation of the Sandringham Summit Agreement, which restricts the use of their titles in daily life.

Meghan Markle's podcast deal represents a new venture for the Duchess amidst ongoing scrutiny and controversy surrounding her and Prince Harry's decisions.
