Palace Implements Secret Tradition Changes Amid King Charles' Cancer Diagnosis

Amid reports of private meetings between Prince William and King Charles, the Royal Family has undergone subtle yet significant changes, signaling a shift towards modernization since Charles ascended the throne in September 2022.

Following Queen Elizabeth's passing and the departure of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, various new roles and titles have been bestowed upon family members, outlining their responsibilities to the Crown. Prince William and Kate Middleton were elevated to Prince and Princess of Wales, while Prince Edward assumed the title of Duke of Edinburgh.

In a departure from tradition, adjustments have been made regarding bows and curtsies. With Charles as monarch and his wife now recognized as Queen Camilla, the requirement for her to receive these gestures has been waived, as reported by The Mirror.

Despite the late Queen's will designating Camilla as Queen Consort, Charles conferred upon her the title of Queen. Consequently, Prince William, as the next in line to the throne, and Kate Middleton, as well as Harry and Meghan, are expected to extend bows to Camilla.

Additionally, Camilla is no longer obligated to curtsy to members of the Royal Family, although she may still choose to do so when greeting foreign monarchs.

These adjustments coincide with King Charles' recent cancer diagnosis, which came to light last month following a procedure for an enlarged prostate. While the specifics of the King's health remain private, royal sources disclosed to The Mirror that Charles and Prince William held a confidential meeting to deliberate on potential additional duties amidst concerns about the King's health.
