Sources close to the palace have revealed to In Touch the behind-the-scenes situation following King Charles' diagnosis with a form of cancer earlier this month.
Although the 75-year-old monarch may be hesitant to relinquish the crown to his eldest son during his lifetime, his current health circumstances leave little choice.
"Charles is contemplating stepping down for the sake of the monarchy," disclosed an insider, "which means William and Kate may ascend to the throne much sooner than anticipated."
Despite the timing being less than ideal, Kate Middleton, who is recuperating from abdominal surgery, is said to be prepared to assume her role.
Insiders also provided insights into discreet plans for William's coronation, reflecting his preference for a more modest affair.
