Meghan Markle and Prince Harry find themselves embroiled in controversy over their latest rebranding efforts.
Royal expert Angela Levin criticized Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for attempting to capitalize on their royal titles for popularity, despite having left the family four years ago.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently unveiled Sussex.com, a website billed as a "one-stop shop" for their endeavors.
In an interview with The Sun, Levin asserted that the late Queen would have been "furious" with the couple for contravening the Sandringham Summit Agreement, which prohibits them from using their titles in their daily lives.
"They are exploiting their royal connections, which they claim to detest," Levin claimed. "Queen Elizabeth II would be furious because they pledged not to do so. They should be barred from using a title they have spent years disparaging."
Levin highlighted the couple's apparent reversal in attitude towards their royal connection, noting their sudden embrace of the Sussex title years after distancing themselves from the monarchy.
"They renounced the Royal Family because they wanted to disassociate themselves, yet now they see the potential in utilizing the Sussex title instead of Archewell," Levin remarked.
"Four years after their departure, they are attempting to reclaim royal status while establishing the 'Office' of Prince Harry and Meghan – it's deeply hypocritical," she continued.
Levin concluded by labeling the couple's actions as "pathetic," suggesting that their circumvention of the SussexRoyal title indicated a desperate attempt to retain their royal ties despite their previous disdain.
