Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Face First Major Setback of 2024

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's public standing continues to decline, marking their first significant setback of 2024.

Since stepping down as senior working royals in 2020 and relocating to the US, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have failed to enhance their popularity, despite the absence of King Charles and Princess Kate due to medical procedures, as indicated by recent polling data.

According to a recent Ipsos study, Harry and Meghan have faced a notable decrease in public approval, reaching historic lows amid ongoing royal health concerns.

The polls reveal a stark reality for the couple: 47 percent of respondents hold an "unfavorable opinion" of Harry, with only 23 percent expressing a "positive opinion" of him. Meghan fared even worse, with 54 percent expressing an "unfavorable opinion" of her, and only 18 percent viewing her in a positive light. This represents a five percent drop since the last poll and marks Meghan's lowest polling percentage in the past five years.

This setback comes after a turbulent 2023 for the California-based couple, which included the release of Harry's memoir "Spare," the conclusion of their Spotify deal, and the controversial publication of "Endgame" by biographer Omid Scobie.

Despite King Charles and Princess Kate being out of the public eye during their recovery from surgeries, they maintain higher levels of popularity compared to the Sussexes.
