Despite Prince Harry's recent actions indicating his willingness to reconcile with the royal family, experts warn that his path back into the fold won't be easy.
Royal commentator Jack Royston believes that given the years since Harry's departure from royal duties with Meghan Markle, the process of reconciliation will be arduous and protracted.
On the Royal Report podcast, Royston remarked, "I think this is not a situation that's going to be healed overnight and is one that is going to require persistence over a long period of time."
He emphasized that Harry must pursue reconciliation diligently, possibly for years, before the royal family will consider trusting him again and fully reopening communication channels.
Prince Harry's recent public expressions of affection toward his father, King Charles, and the rest of the royal family, including his declaration of love during an interview with Good Morning America, suggest a desire for reconciliation. His brief visit to the UK upon hearing of the King's cancer diagnosis further underscores this intention.
However, Royston pointed out that Harry's past actions, including publicly discussing mistreatment within the royal family and criticizing senior members in various interviews, a Netflix documentary series, and his upcoming memoir "Spare," could hinder his current efforts.
After such public revelations, Royston stressed that the road to reconciliation will be lengthy and challenging. It will require significant efforts from Prince Harry to rebuild trust and repair relationships that have been strained by past events.
