As the deadline for their contract with Netflix approaches, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly considering enticing offers from other streaming platforms, with Paramount emerging as a promising contender.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who embarked on a multi-million-dollar deal with Netflix in 2020 following their departure from the UK, now face the potential expiration of their contract by 2025.
PR expert Lynn Carratt, speaking to The Mirror, suggested that Paramount could offer a more suitable platform for the California-based couple.
"I also feel maybe Paramount would be a better-suited streaming service for Meghan and Harry," Carratt remarked, highlighting the potential for greater creative freedom and project selection compared to Netflix.
Carratt emphasized that Paramount might afford the former working royals the latitude to pursue "more creative projects," including Meghan's shelved animated series 'Pearl,' which Netflix abandoned prior to production.
"There is also talk of Meghan making her directing debut in 2024, and again, I think she’d love the opportunity to direct some shows for Paramount and build her profile as a director," added Carratt, hinting at potential future collaborations between the couple and the streaming service.
