In a bold move, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have revamped their official website, sussex.com, formerly archewell.com, now titled "The Office of Prince Harry & Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex," sparking controversy and sending a clear message to their detractors who demand they shed their royal titles.
Their decision, following Harry's discussions with King Charles, underscores their refusal to adopt the conventional "Mr. and Mrs." titles.
According to NewsWeek, Harry's stance could be seen as a risky move, especially with Conservative lawmaker Bob Seely advocating for stripping titles. Seely's proposed bill aims to amend the Titles Deprivation Act of 1917.
In a MailOnline article preceding the bill presentation, coinciding with the release of Omid Scobie's contentious royal biography Endgame, Seely stated, "I believe it is time they dropped their titles—or were made to—and lived by their own talents, if they have any to speak of."
"The sooner the Duke and Duchess become just Mr. and Mrs. Sussex, the better for us all," Seely emphasized.
