No signs of reconciliation have emerged between Prince William and Prince Harry.
After receiving a call from his cancer-stricken father, King Charles, Prince Harry returned to his home country. However, the reunion with the monarch lasted a mere 30 minutes, with no interaction between the estranged siblings.
As King Charles battles illness and Kate Middleton recovers from planned abdominal surgery, Prince William, the heir to the throne, shoulders a significant portion of royal duties. PR expert Carla Speight suggests extending an olive branch to the Duke of Sussex.
"If the royal family fails to mend the rift with Harry, they risk the monarchy's future," Speight warned, speaking to Express.co.uk. "The public's sympathy is waning, and there's a sense of fatigue with the ongoing drama provided by insiders."
Struggling to maintain his reign amid criticism for streamlining the monarchy, King Charles has expressed exhaustion with his feuding sons.
During Prince Philip's 2021 funeral, excerpts from Harry's memoir, "Spare," reveal Charles pleading with William and Harry to cease their conflicts.
Reportedly, Charles stood between his sons, imploring, "Please boys, don't make my final years miserable."
Recent reports suggest Prince Harry, one of the monarch's Counsellors of State, is willing to assume a temporary royal role. However, Prince William remains resolute in keeping Harry away from royal duties.
"It is absolutely and categorically clear that [William] would not allow Harry to return. There is a zero per cent chance Harry is coming back in any capacity," a source informed The Mirror.
