Princess Kate Prepares to Resume Duties with New Private Secretary's Support

The Princess of Wales recently underwent "successful" abdominal surgery last month.

Princess Kate is now concentrating on resuming her duties with the aid of a new private secretary, according to reports.

Following her surgery at The London Clinic, the Princess of Wales is currently recuperating at home.

As reported by The Times, Lieutenant Colonel Tom White, formerly Queen Elizabeth II’s equerry, has been chosen as Kate’s private secretary.

For over a year, the princess has been without a private secretary.

Kate reportedly invited White to accompany her to a public engagement in late 2023 to gain insights into the role.

The initial candidate for the position was Alison Corfield, recognized as a "straight-talking" brand management expert.

White served Queen Elizabeth II until her passing in September 2022 and previously served as a Royal Marines officer in Afghanistan in 2009.

Kate, 42, is not anticipated to resume working royal duties until at least after Easter.

Last month, Kensington Palace issued a statement: "Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales underwent planned abdominal surgery at The London Clinic yesterday.

"The procedure was successful, and she is expected to remain in the hospital for 10 to 14 days before returning home to continue her recovery.

"Based on current medical advice, she is unlikely to resume public duties until after Easter.
