Protesters Storm King Charles' Residence Amid Cancer Treatment

King Charles faces an unusual protest just days after being diagnosed with cancer.

In a bid to address soaring food prices, activists from the group "This Is Rigged" staged a trespassing incident at King Charles's Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

After breaching the barriers, nine activists occupied the premises, setting up a table and consuming food from Tupperware containers while sipping tea from flasks they had brought along.

According to reports from Daily Express, the activists remain inside, prompting authorities to temporarily restrict access to the affected wing of the palace to the public.

The intrusion into Holyroodhouse comes amidst King Charles' ongoing cancer treatment, following his recent diagnosis.

Sources indicate that the group entered Holyroodhouse around 1:15 p.m. on Monday, February 19, displaying banners with various slogans, including one that reads, "Is treasa tuath na tighearna," translating from Gaelic to "The people are mightier than a lord."

"This Is Rigged" is advocating for full funding and establishment of community food hubs by the Scottish Government, with one hub for every 500 homes in Scotland. Additionally, they demand that retailers reduce the price of baby formula to levels seen in March 2021.

"Our food system is a unifying factor, but it has become vulnerable in the hands of profit-driven corporations," stated 19-year-old protester Jasmin Robertson, who is also a student and cultivator from the Highlands.
