Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh Assume Increased Responsibilities
The royal family finds itself in the midst of an unexpected crisis as three senior members have temporarily withdrawn from their royal duties.
Last month, King Charles III and Kate Middleton announced their temporary withdrawal from public engagements due to scheduled medical procedures. Prince William remains by his wife's side, foregoing public appearances while the Princess of Wales recuperates at Adelaide Cottage. Additionally, Prince Edward is reported to be off-duty.
As a result, the burden of royal engagements falls upon Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, who have taken on the majority of responsibilities during this challenging period.
While King Charles and Prince William are expected to resume their duties within a week, Kate will not return to her royal obligations until Easter.
The royal family recently shared an update on the Duchess of Edinburgh's latest royal engagement, signaling her active involvement in royal affairs.
Speculations abound that Sophie will assume a significant role within the monarchy. A royal source told The Mail that the Duchess of Edinburgh will serve as "Kate's Anne" when she eventually becomes Queen, drawing parallels to Princess Anne.

Princess Anne, renowned for her tireless work ethic, completed an impressive 457 engagements in 2023. In contrast, Sophie fulfilled 219 engagements last year, quietly carrying out numerous royal duties behind the scenes.
Kate and Sophie stand as the youngest working women in the Royal Family since Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020.

Reports suggest that King Charles welcomes the active involvement of Sophie, Camilla, and Anne in royal engagements, as he has long been surrounded by strong female figures within the family.
