The Royal Family Confronts Defamatory AI-Generated Books on Amazon

As technology advances, the Royal Family faces the repercussions of slander and misinformation proliferating on public platforms. Recently, Mail On Sunday uncovered a disturbing trend: a multitude of AI-generated books on Amazon containing false claims about members of the royal family, including Kate Middleton, Princess Diana, and Queen Elizabeth II.

One such sham publication, titled "Prince William Biography: A Captivating Autobiography Of The Future King," accuses Princess Diana of drug consumption during her gap year in Florence. Another book in the series, purportedly part of "The Complete Guide Editions," alleges that Diana's death was orchestrated by MI6, a claim vehemently denounced by former senior military intelligence officer Philip Ingram as "incendiary rubbish."

Despite Amazon's claims of stringent content guidelines, these books have remained available since May 2023, raising questions about the platform's commitment to accuracy and integrity.

This revelation follows the emergence of AI-generated books speculating on King Charles' cancer diagnosis, further exacerbating the Royal Family's distress.

Buckingham Palace has issued a statement condemning the dissemination of such defamatory material, promising to pursue legal action against the creators of these "intrusive, insensitive," and "inaccurate" publications.
