Kate Middleton's Brother to Chronicle Mental Health Journey in Upcoming Book
James Middleton is set to delve into the highs and lows of his life in his forthcoming memoir.
Announcing the title and details of the tell-all book centered around his dog, James revealed that it will be released in September of this year.
According to publishing company Octopus, "Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life" will focus on James' experiences before and after the arrival of his beloved canine companion.
"Ella and James forged an unbreakable bond, embarking on countless adventures together, from scaling Scottish mountainsides to attending royal weddings. Beyond being a faithful companion, Ella played a pivotal role in James' journey, including helping him meet his future wife, Alizee, who shared his love for dogs.
"But the connection between James and Ella transcends mere companionship. Woven throughout this heartwarming tale of canine devotion is a candid exploration of James' battle with clinical depression. During his darkest moments, Ella stood by him as a steadfast friend, intuitively understanding his emotions and providing unwavering support. In fact, Ella was the catalyst for James seeking therapy."
James reflected on Ella's profound impact, stating, "Ella was more than just a pet – she was an integral part of my life, a loyal companion, my closest confidante, and often my therapist. My journey wouldn't have been the same without her, and I wanted to honor her memory and the profound influence she had on me.
"I recognize that many others have their own 'Ella' or may be in need of one right now. I hope that this book encourages open dialogue about mental health, the importance of human connection, and the reciprocal nature of the bond between humans and animals."
Scheduled for publication on September 26, 2024, the memoir serves as a tribute to Ella, who passed away last January after 15 years by James' side.
