Victoria Newton, Editor of The Sun, shared her conversation with Kensington Palace, revealing, "I spoke to Kensington Palace that morning... They conveyed that she's genuinely upset and saddened by the turmoil she inadvertently stirred."
In the wake of the intense backlash following the altered Mother’s Day photo, there is a growing sentiment advocating for empathy towards the Princess of Wales. "It’s high time the Princess of Wales is granted some respite from the 'unjust' criticism directed at her over the Mother’s Day photo," Newton remarked.
Expressing profound concern for his family's well-being, Prince William is said to be "resolute in preserving a profoundly private life" and is committed to safeguarding Kate Middleton and their three children, as affirmed by the palace.
The palace's official statement, shared by Newton, emerged in response to revelations that the photograph had undergone digital modifications by Kate, subsequently igniting global headlines and rampant social media speculation.
Despite Kate's subsequent admission and apology for the "minor alterations" to the image, she continues to face substantial online criticism. Critics have called upon Kensington Palace to release an untouched version of the photo to quell the ongoing speculations.
Nevertheless, Kensington Palace remains reticent on releasing an unedited photo featuring Princess Kate and her children.
In a candid conversation with Times Radio on Thursday, Newton dispelled unfounded marriage rumors, stating, “The ludicrous claims suggesting trouble in the marriage due to her absence of wedding rings [in the Mother's Day photo]... have you seen the size of that rock? It's improbable she wears it routinely at home. I found such speculations deeply unjust and verging on bullying, prompting our firm stance on the matter. I'm pleased it's making an impact."
Regarding Prince William, Newton commented, "He endured a challenging upbringing within a fragmented family, and he is resolutely committed to providing his own children with a profoundly private life. His approach is markedly different from his own upbringing, underscoring his fiercely protective nature."
