Reality TV star Kim Kardashian is facing criticism for her recent social media post that many deem insensitive towards Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales.
On Saturday, Kardashian shared a series of photos on Instagram with the caption, "On my way to go find Kate," sparking controversy given Middleton's recent absence from public duties following abdominal surgery.
PR expert Mayah Riaz expressed her concerns to The Mirror, attributing the surge in online conspiracy theories about Middleton's health to a lack of effective public relations management by Kensington Palace. Riaz further criticized Kardashian and actress Blake Lively for exacerbating the situation with their comments.
"Both Kim Kardashian and Blake Lively weighing in on the situation is wholly irresponsible," Riaz stated. "Their involvement only amplifies the ongoing speculation surrounding someone who is likely going through a challenging period."
Riaz expressed surprise at Lively's decision to comment on Middleton's Photoshop incident, adding, "While Blake's involvement caught me off guard, it's less surprising coming from Kim Kardashian, who often leverages current events to garner attention."
Concluding her remarks, Riaz emphasized the responsibility that celebrities hold when engaging in public discourse, particularly on sensitive topics that can easily be misconstrued or sensationalized in the media.
