In preparation for his relocation to Buckingham Palace in 2027, King Charles is initiating significant changes, including the recruitment of new staff as renovations commence at the royal residence in London.
With the monarch's impending move from Clarence House alongside his wife, Queen Camilla, a full-time Housekeeping Assistant position is now open for applications.
The advertised role entails the upkeep, cleaning, and maintenance of various interiors and items within the palace, ensuring they are impeccably presented. Additionally, the selected candidate will be required to travel to other royal residences for up to three months annually.
While prior housekeeping or hospitality experience is advantageous, the emphasis lies on the applicant's proactive approach, readiness to tackle new challenges, attention to detail, flexibility as part of a team, and proactive attitude.
The move is scheduled following the completion of a ten-year renovation in the Palace's North Wing, which commenced during Queen Elizabeth II's reign and includes the construction of private apartments.
It remains uncertain whether King Charles will retain Clarence House as a secondary residence following his transition to the 775-room palace.
