Since her public apology last week, the Duchess of Cambridge has faced a barrage of online harassment from purported fans of Harry and Meghan.
A royal aide has expressed concern that the unfounded conspiracy theories circulating online are detrimentally impacting the well-being of the future Queen.
"The situation could be excruciating, causing immense pain and humiliation. The stress could trigger panic attacks in the individual," cautioned a mental health expert.
Meanwhile, a palace insider has voiced apprehensions about the toll this scrutiny is taking on the Princess's mental health, noting, "I'm concerned about the intense focus on Catherine. She appeared visibly distressed in the car on Monday."
Nevertheless, the palace has assured the public that Kate is on the path to recovery and will resume her royal duties after Easter, urging for her privacy to be respected.
"Facing such intense public scrutiny while recuperating from major surgery is incredibly challenging," remarked a source to Page Six.
