Tensions Eased Following Recent Communication Between the Brothers
Prince Harry and Prince William are reportedly contemplating a reunion at the upcoming summer wedding of their mutual friend, the Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor. Grosvenor is set to tie the knot with his long-term partner, Olivia Henson, at Chester Cathedral in June.
According to insiders, the Duke of Westminster has extended invitations to several senior working royals, including both Prince Harry and Prince William. The Daily Mail has reported that the Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to grace the occasion, with Prince Harry also receiving a 'save the date' notification.
The significance of the event is further highlighted by the expected participation of Prince George, Grosvenor's godson and the future King. Other esteemed guests anticipated to attend include the Duke and Duchess of Kent, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and Princess Alexandra.
While the Duke of Westminster shares a close bond with both Prince Harry and Prince William, it remains uncertain whether the Duke of Sussex will indeed be able to attend. Interestingly, Prince Harry's daughter, Princess Lilibet, is set to celebrate her birthday on the same day as the wedding.
If Prince Harry does make an appearance, it would mark the first face-to-face meeting between the brothers since their father, King Charles's Coronation in May 2023. Their relationship has been strained, particularly following the release of Prince Harry's memoir, "Spare," which included criticisms of his brother. Additionally, claims made by Harry and Meghan against the Royal Family during their Oprah interview and in their Netflix series have further exacerbated tensions.
However, recent developments suggest a potential thaw in the brothers' relationship. Following the Princess of Wales's cancer announcement, reports indicate that Prince Harry has reached out to William in a personal capacity. Royal reporter Sarah Louise-Robertson commented on this development, stating, "Harry reached out to his brother last night. There have been exchanges, and this could signify a tentative step towards reconciliation between the two families."
