The Duke and Duchess of Sussex Encounter Backlash, Here's Why
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's dwindling popularity in the US stems from significant missteps they've made.
According to royal expert Angela Levin, the couple's perceived 'hypocrisy' and consistent criticisms against the royal family have contributed to their diminishing appeal across America.
In an interview with The Sun, Levin highlighted how the Duke and Duchess' incessant grievances not only irked the British populace but also disillusioned Americans. "The constant complaints alienate Americans, who admire individuals with a proactive approach rather than those who constantly deflect blame," Levin remarked.
Moreover, the relentless attacks on the Royal Family, particularly the beloved Queen, have further soured their image in the eyes of the American public.
Recalling the controversial South Park incident involving the couple, Levin emphasized their contradictory stance on privacy, juxtaposed against their appearances at events for public attention.
"By seeking retribution, they have squandered their opportunities, with no chance for redemption," Levin concluded.
These observations coincide with a recent poll conducted by Newsweek, which sheds light on the declining favorability of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the US.
According to the poll results, only 30% of Americans express favor towards Meghan, while 42% still hold a positive view of Prince Harry.
The findings underscore a significant shift in public sentiment towards the once-revered couple, signaling a challenging road ahead for their public image and reputation in the United States.
